Por la calidad de los autores —desde el original de Melville, el trabajo inicial de Durañona, la adaptación de Saccomanno y hasta la genialidad del mejor Enrique Breccia— y porque la edición que se hizo en los 90, además de incompleta, era definitivamente muy, muy mala Por eso decidimos remontar la parte de Durañona a tres tiras por página (originalmente, estos dibujos se hicieron en un formato muy grande y de cuatro tiras por plancha, y además, en la reducción a las medidas actuales de libro de historietas bueno, quedaban muy pequeños) y así pudimos unificar el planteo gráfico de ambos dibujantes. Enrique hizo todo a tres tiras y la verdad, yo creo que así quedó mucho mejor. Y claro, lo más importante: en aquella edición, la primera parte dibujada por Durañona, se publicó sin la última página. De no creer En el libro hay un pequeño racconto del recorrido de la obra, de cómo Ediciones Record la rescató en los 70 (estando incompleta) y la finalizó para publicarla en Tit-Bits. Esta historieta se merecía una nueva edición.
